The third Dimension of Polyphony
Probably all those who love polyphony (whether in its vocal or instrumental form) will agree if we say that its charm consists in the coming together of two dimensions: horizontal (individual melodic lines) and vertical (harmony). Stepping away from the equally tempered scale as played on the piano towards a different sound, opens another, unknown dimension of musical experience.
