Su Cuncordu de Orosei (Sardegna)
In the panorama of Mediterranean oral transmitted singing, Sardinian polyphony is probably the most internationally known. The Cuncordu de Orosei, among the four voices singing groups, is certainly unique for its musical competence, professionalism, style of research and quality of sounding. Its singers have over 35 years of experience and can present a very rich repertoire both “a Cuncordu” (connected with the ceremonies of the Holy Week) and “a tenore” (rooted in the secular and popular tradition); those songs have always been transmitted orally by the members of the three Confraternities that are active till nowadays.
From the oratory of the church of the Holy Cross in Orosei, comes “Cuntempla”, sung during Lent ceremonies and part of the performance “Anhelli – The Howl” by Teatr ZAR.
